Jon's Happy Birthday

The kids had Tae Kwon Do on his actual birthday, so we couldn't have the family over then. Instead I made him vegetarian Beef Wellingtons, roasted potatoes, peas, and a raspberry brownie dessert to celebrate, just the Moore four. We all ate well and enjoyed. Jon had to ration the left over brownies today. He wouldn't allow himself to eat his second one of the day before 10am.
Jon got several funny cards, at butt cracks seemed to be a recurring theme this year.

Tonight, my brother was gracious enough to come over (along with my dad, Diana, and Camden) during a big Kentucky basketball game, even though we don't get any TV reception. We had "dips for the dip": 3 cheese fondue-I will be passing the fondue pot on to my mom now, it is so not worth the effort and the price of the ingredients--, homemade green chile hummus, babaganouj, salsa cheese dip, bean dip, garlic pub dip, pizza dip and all sorts of dippers. I also made a banana cake, as requested by the birthday boy. I am now literally falling asleep (I mean literally, my eyes were actually closed at one point until I nodded myself back awake). Next year I'm taking the man out to eat and saving myself some dishes and hours in the kitchen! I do, however, love him and enjoy spoiling him a wee bit one time a year. Happy birthday, Jon!
