2. Cassia: Mom, tell me this. Will the lawyer give us shots? Yes or no?
3. Soren: Sometimes I will go to rock concerts, and sometimes I will go to school.
4. Lawyer: You guys should have some sort of frequent flier miles that get you through adoptions quickly.
5. I think it is very hard to be two years old and lose your twin/playmate/partner in crime. It leads to lots and lots of clinginess and not wanting mom to leave the room without you for even a second.
6. Baby Roo is also going through another phase where he prefers to be held in order to nap. Shucks. I thought we were over that.
7. My niece is 11 today! Happy birthday down under, Alyssa!
8. That means our family birthday season is around the corner.
9. We have six months in a row with no child birthdays in our home. 8 kids and six months in a row with no birthdays. Crazy. We have 5 kid birthdays between September 1 and December 3. Then we insert Christmas. Then we have the other three birthdays in January and February. We had lots of foster kids with summer birthdays, but every single one moved on.
10. I'm already trying to come up with a game plan of how to spoil the kids without getting overrun with more stuff.
11. Baby Roo starts visits with his mom again tomorrow. They have had five visits in seven plus months. I had two full weeks without having to get anyone to a visit. It was nice, but I knew it was short lived.
12. Timber will have moved away by this time next week. NOOOOOOOOO!
13. I am thinking of joining the Catholic homeschool group for this coming year. I know there are families with lots of kids, and the group is well established and active without needing me to take charge. I'm trying to figure out how to get Basia a new set of friends (see number 12).
14. I have absolutely loved having all the kids home again this summer. I will be sad when school starts again, but I am going to do my best to be more involved in the school this year and make the most of it. This may be the last year we have kids in school or not. I'm going to watch Cassia and Soren closely to see if their personalities and insecurities are better served in a school setting or at home. They are only three, so I suppose things could change, but I think Zade and Tobias will do better at home. Cassia and Soren are quick learners and will do well either way, I'm sure.
15. I signed Basia , Cassia, and Soren up for the same art class for the fall semester. How strange it is to think some of my little ones are now old enough for formal homeschooling activities. Cassia and Soren love to draw and color, so I think they will do very well in art class.
16. We had a knock on our door tonight, and it was a backyard neighbor and church friend bringing us left overs from her son's going away party: brownies (amazing ones), veggies from her garden, potatoes, and rolls. It's amazing how loved I felt from that simple gift. I need to think of ways to do that for others.
17. Brishen has been working the sound board for church worship services. He really enjoys doing it. He had to be at the church for nine days in a row for one function or another.
18. Jon's thinking of teaching the older two how to play golf. He spent the weekend in California for a destination wedding and came back with that new goal. I know they won't object.
19. Our beloved caregiver, Dany, got a job on campus. She will still be available to help us out sometimes at night or on the weekends, but it truly won't be the same. There is no one like Dany.
20. Basia has a dentist appointment tomorrow. Sir Smiles was supposed to also go. His parents were told to keep all his appointments. Will they be there at the same time we are there? That would be good/bad/strange. I probably should have rescheduled Basia's appointment to avoid the possibility, but I can't imagine they would keep that appointment at the same dentist on the day I schedule six months ago.
21. 20 is not a very random number, so I decided I better have 21 items on my list.
Here's a random picture from a couple years ago that I found saved on my computer. Random.
