Brishen's Busy Day

Jon and Brishen joined our homeschool group for a hike in the Robledo Mountains this morning.

They had a great time and found all these seashell fossils on the top of a mountain in our dry desert.

Brishen decided to make the day busier by having his first gymnastics class in months and his first basketball practice with his new team. I think he got his exercise quota in for the day!

Basia and I stayed home from the hike to take care of the 22-month-old I usually watch three days a week. It was great to see her again after her two weeks in California. Basia also had gymnastics this afternoon and played at a playground with friends during Brishen's basketball practice. I did learn that Basia is just not able to watch the PBS show "Super Why" unless she is wearing her cape and mask. I was going to let her watch it this morning while I did her hair, but her cape was in the drier. She just couldn't bear to watch without it. She watched "Max and Ruby" instead.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
