No more of that crazy man trying to keep up with my blog (and everything else around here). It was a nice weekend away. I came back a more patient mom (hopefully it will last), full of new homeschooling ideas.
I did my second half-marathon yesterday. It was. . . interesting. It was not a very organized race. The crowd of racers were following each other down various streets before the race, trying to find the start. Nothing was marked. One of the organizers finally rounded us up after the official starting time had passed and gave us a long list of instructions that almost no one could hear. The race started, and a few miles later another man and I made a wrong turn--actually went straight when we were supposed to turn--because things were not well-marked. It all turned out just fine, and I LOVED the part of Albuquerque we saw along the way. Part of the race was along a bike path with great views--including camels!
Basia greeted me with fresh-baked cookies. My house was all tidy, and the kids were excited about the "treats" I brought for them--a castle-building kit, math manipulatives, and paper airplane-making kits, all bought for $2 at the used curriculum sale. It's good to be home.
