Library Card

Basia is now the proud owner of her very own library card. Yesterday I showed her how small she would need to write her name in order to get a library card. She immediately went into her bedroom and wrote her name in small letters in her notebook. When I told her that I would take her to get her own card, she got so excited. It was a little anti-climactic, though, since the library is all out of the real plastic cards that have a picture and signature on them. She got a temporary paper card until they get new ones.

Now we can check out 90 books between the kids and I. That seems a bit crazy, but I'll tell you that there are times when 60 just isn't enough! There was a day when we could all fit our books in one book bag. Then we decided that we really needed to bring two bags each time we went. Now we each have to have our own bag, or they get too full. Luckily the kids always get nice book bags from the summer reading programs, so we have enough to go around.

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
