Brishen, Basia, and I spent a chunk of the morning at church, as we do the first and third Tuesday of each month. We run the bilingual story time, along with another family. Kids who go with their parents to our food and clothing pantry sit and listen to us read stories in Spanish and English. Jon also took us all out to lunch. Thanks, hon. Other than that, here's what we did on day 2 of Spring Break:
Brishen:
1. more math and more history reading. It is nice to know he hasn't lost that internal love for learning yet!
2. more Lego building, while listening to the Shakespeare stories again.
3. practically driving his mother crazy with his new book of world records. He feels that he must read them all out loud to me. I try my best to be fascinated with the wing span of such-and-such moth and the date the first music school was established in the United States. The truly fascinating thing is that Brishen really is fascinated by all those facts. I'm sure it will be scary how many he'll remember and quote back to me from now on. I'm actually making him watch TV right now so I get a break from hearing about his book. Bad mom!
4. playing card games with Dad while mom was at the book store.
Basia:
1. cowboy races with Josh. I'm not sure what cowboy races are, but they involve boots and a hat. I've been assured that they are NOT marathons.
2. writing letters about Easter and reading them out loud to me. I'm still not great at reading her types of cards and letters. Plus, they change meanings depending on her audience.
3. changing clothes more times than should be legal in any state.
Melani:
1. laundry (see above if you wonder how many loads I may have had).
2. signing up for a half marathon that takes place in three weeks.
3. spending a lovely couple hours at our local used bookstore while Jon supervised nap and silent reading time. Thanks again, Jon!!!
Jon:
1. work.
2. taking an afternoon break from work to hang out with the family and to let Melani go book browsing and take her walk.
3. back to work for nighttime meetings.
