Beets and Beats

Jon and Basia worked together on some pickled beets this afternoon. Jon actually has a bit of free time on Sunday afternoons, now that praise band chose a different time to practice.

Here are the beet greens that Jon put into some fancy enchiladas tonight.

This evening we went to Jazz in the Park for some different beats.

Here we are chilling on the blanket in the park.

Basia was there, too. Dancing...

and trying to start a fire. We blame this on watching "Survivorman." She was rubbing sticks together to try to start a fire and would even blow on it and throw on some dry leaves when she thought it was ready. I think she forgot about her visit with Smokey Bear at the Mayfair yesterday.
