This is the creek that ran through the campground. This particular spot was so peaceful and gorgeous that I could have stayed and stared for hours. After staying at Three Rivers and seeing no rivers and only a few mucky puddles, it was nice to fall asleep to the sound of an actual running creek.
After a night in tents and a warm breakfast at a Hillsboro cafe (we certainly know how to rough it!), we met our church hiking group, including Grandmother, to hike the other side of Emory Pass. Basia had a rougher time than the rest of us since the grass was often up to her head. In all it was at least a seven mile hike, and we were rained on for the second half. The view at the top was just amazing--honestly the best we have ever seen. We have to keep it captured in our memories because the weather prevented a great picture. Our to-do lists got neglected for another weekend, but we are so happy to have taken time to enjoy nature and each other!
