All About My 5-Year-Old

I used to scrapbook, and when Brishen had a birthday, I would do a page that listed all his current favorites, showed how he wrote his name at that time, etc. I haven't scrapbooked for years, but I thought this year I would start a blog version of an "all about me" page.

Basia is about 41 3/4 inches and 37 pounds. She wears size 10 1/2 shoes and 4T-5T clothes--either slim or adjustable waist for jeans. All her 4Ts shirts still fit her fine. Her 4T jeans are too short, so I am buying 5T for the winter.
Above is a person and below is a rocket.

I asked her to name these today:

color: pink
want to be when grown up: ambulance driver, police officer, firefighter, doctor, superhero
TV shows: Backyardigans, Super Why
song: Power (a VBS song)
animal: meercat
sport: hockey, baseball, football
food: egg salad, noodles
subjects at school: reading, writing, science experiments
good at: karate, making pictures
afraid of: darkness, ghosts

These are some of my own observations about Basia at age 5:

fashion: she prefers sporty shorts and tank tops, she also loves costumes for around the house
hairstyles: she loves her hair blown out, and always wants a style that fits under a helmet
fears: loud noises, intensity (happy or otherwise) in others, bugs and snakes
strengths: all physical activities, amazing imagination, cheers others up
imaginary friends: Josh, a boy about 18 inches tall most of the time who lives all over the world and goes on lots of adventures with Basia--he has a dog named Bingo and other friends that sometimes join him--his name usually has a Q in it--he also has quite a few terrible things happen to him that require hospital visits
favorite activities: anything sports-related, spending time with family, helping in the kitchen with cooking or dishes, playing with Brishen, listening to music and dancing, cutting things into tiny pieces (straws, rubber bands, paper), drawing, imaginative play
favorite toys: animals-hard plastic and stuffed, skateboard, bike, scooter, Playmobil, Little Petshop, water table, Rescue Heroes
speech: leaves out the "s" in consonant digraphs (s-nake, s-nack, s-top, s-pider), "th" is difficult, some trouble with "z," "sh," "tr" in certain parts of words; mostly she talks really fast, sometimes before she has thought out what she is going to say
conclusion: she cracks us up, amazes us, and delights us every single day. She keeps us busy all the time. She would do anything for anyone--she truly loves to make others happy.
