B-ball and a Board

Jon got the bigger basketball hoop set up for Brishen last week, so now both kids are able to have a hoop at their level. They go out to play at least a couple times a day. Brishen is working on his lay-ups and free-throws, and Basia is getting good at stealing the ball from Brishen and making lots of baskets in her hoop.

Basia and I dropped the boys in the family off for Brishen's theater performances and then headed to my mom's house to hang out. My mom had several new games for us to play. After we played a couple games with Basia, my mom got out this game for her and me to play. We were sitting on the couch, and the cards were sliding on the plump cushions. She commented that we needed a board to level the couch. The really strange thing was that she ACTUALLY HAD THIS BOARD A FEW STEPS AWAY! Who keeps a spare board in the living room?? I will add that she has a very neat, tidy, clutter-free living room--not like the ones you see on Oprah that have piles of everything lying around. It seriously cracked me up.

You have to understand that the board is a strange thing to have in the living room, but me knowing where the board is is very normal. The board belongs to Mike and I LET him have that one thing without complaining (too much). I cracked up too!

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
