Two Years Ago Today

On January 2, 2007, I set out to become a healthier me. I started by walking around my neighborhood four times a week, eating breakfast every morning, and eating healthy, regular snacks. I gradually worked out more and ate less, but it took time. I've now been maintaining my weight loss for a bit over a year. It is something I will have to consciously decide to keep up for the rest of my life, but it is definitely worth it. I have read that only 2-4 percent of people maintain a significant weight loss, and it takes a real change in lifestyle to maintain. I look back and think that my lifestyle has changed quite a bit. I know that it will be so easy to change back, little by little, too, so I have to stay aware and motivated. I went for a bike ride with my family tonight, and it is so nice to think that I have exercised regularly for two whole years. Here's to another year of health!

Good for you! I have so much awe for the people (like you) who make life changes and stick with them. I just wanted to say great job! Your children will always have you to look to for a great role model.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
