What's Up

Jon is off to Florida for several days after going to Atlanta last week (the picture above was taken of Jon while he was walking to the King Center in Atlanta). Basia is spending the morning with Grandmother. Brishen and I are working on school. We made our first real fire in our fireplace this morning, and it has been wonderful reading in front of it. I am also watching little E. today.

I am trying to read more these days. I'm back to going to the church's book club. I finally got around to reading A Thousand Splendid Suns last week and am working on Little Women this week, which I sadly have never read in my life.

I've been going through all of Basia's picture books, accepting that she is growing up and that I don't need to keep all those books forever. I have a big stack of books to read through once more with her before trading them in for credit at my used book store. It is amazing to me how many I am finally willing to part with and how many that I just can't bear to get rid of yet.

I do have pictures on my camera and things to blog about, but I've been too busy/lazy. This will have to do for now.

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
