Recovery Day 5

I hurt. There. I said it. It is to be expected, and I should be used to it. I just was a bit annoyed that I woke up and didn't feel better than I did when I woke up yesterday. I wanted noticeable improvement. That seems silly because I know that there will be a big improvement over the span of two weeks, but each day won't be so obviously different. I'm just optimistic in that way.

Yesterday was a nice day. I met my goals of showering, holding my baby nephew (thanks, guys!!), and walking all the way around the block (.61 miles--my sister later measured). I was able to keep the pain in check as long as I remembered to take my meds in a timely manner. By evening I was in quite a bit of pain, and the meds didn't immediately put me out like they did the night before, but that's to be expected after such a busy day. I spent the morning with Saralyn (my babysitter). I finished a good book. I watched a good movie. I enjoyed a visit from Kenn, Diana, and Camden, and a surprise visit from the little girl I watch and her parents, and also a visit from a couple from church who brought an awesome supper. That's a busy day for a sicko!

Goals for today?? I would like to walk around the block again. I'm not going to let myself go farther until the pain gets a little better, but I hope to make it a mile by the end of the week. I've already showered, even though I didn't want to. I'm planning on reading to both of my kids at some point today, and I also want to write a few thank you notes. It is crazy how many people I already need to thank. My friends, family, and church sure have been taking good care of us all.
