Big City Transport
The kids were delighted by all the new experiences of big city life. They started with a plane ride, then got to ride a bus (something small-town homeschoolers don't get many chances to experience), and then rode many times on the DC Metro. Add to that the frequent elevator rides and the escalators both big and small that were found at the Metro stations and in the various museums. They were sad to leave it all behind, and man were we pros at all aspects of Metro tickets by the time we left.
