Tea Party

A couple weeks ago the kids spent the night with their grandmother. I was then invited to a special tea party that they had prepared together. Everything was teeny, tiny--really so cute that the pictures just can't do them justice. I was greeted before I even got out of my van and led to a little table with little teacups by a very friendly staff.

These croissants were so tiny!

The eggs were adorable, and the peanut butter cookies were precious.

Here are the delicious donuts (I hear they were Cheerios in a former life).

Yep, Kenn is being a pig and stuffing an entire donut into his mouth at one time.

Yes, I was a pig, too, and ate six donuts just for my first helping. Aren't those cinnamon rolls cute??

We were served three courses in all, each with a different kind of tea. It was a bit difficult to really savor the tea because the teacups barely held enough liquid to wet our tongues. We asked for many refills. The third course had these great little cakes, made from Oreo Cakesters--yum!

There was also seedless watermelon--also in mini form.

I think Camden enjoyed his first tea party. I'm sure it won't be his last. I have to give some credit here to Diana, who gave Basia the beautiful tea set that she once used as a little girl. I also want to thank Robin for the great cookbook with all the adorable mini ideas. I especially want to thank my mom who went through all the trouble of helping the kids frost Cheerios one by one and doing all the other delicate tasks involved in making such a feast!

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
