A Fun, Busy Weekend

I'm too tired to upload pictures, but we had a really great, really busy weekend. Friday night was the Electric Light Parade. The beginning of the parade is only about a mile away, so we walked, along with my brother, sister-in-law, and baby Camden. A few steps away from the house it started to sprinkle. We were all completely soaked by the time we got to the parade area, and we still had an hour (of constant rain) before the parade began. In the end, they still held the parade and most of us stuck it out, although we were so very wet and really, really cold and ready to be home by the end. We will chalk this one up to ADVENTURE for sure!!

Last night my parents joined us for some fireworks here before we found a good spot to watch the city ones. I am pleased to announce that Basia watched a few of the fireworks here before hiding in the house for the really loud ones. Then she watched the city ones for the first time ever. It was a big night for her! She has a very pronounced phobia of loud noises, and fireworks are near the top of her list of things to hate. She was so proud of herself, and I was proud of her.

Today is my mom's birthday. Happy Birthday, Mom! We got together to celebrate, and it was such a nice, relaxing time with the family. We ate some good food and enjoyed playing games. Camden was an angel, as usual, and my dad was almost as good, for once! Now Jon would not say the same for my mom. He was trying to light all the candles, and she kept blowing them out, one over here and then another over there, making his job a bit difficult. She's getting ornery in her (almost, sort of, practically) old age.

You are as old as you feel and sometimes act and today I acted like I was two. I had such a great day!

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
