Please note that a backpack has absolutely no purpose in homeschooling, that I did not need to buy her one, and that it is, in fact, empty in these pictures. I'm pretty sure I bought her the backpack just so I could take a picture of her on her first day of school wearing a backpack just like her brother did. By golly the first day of kindergarten is a super big deal whether you homeschool or get to climb onto the bus! It's just a lot harder to make it seem like a big deal when you're staying home.
