Melani:
56. The Geurnsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
It's a fun, quick read set on the island of Geurnsey shortly after the end of WWII. It consists of letters back and forth between islanders and a writer, primarily, that detail the island's occupation by Germany during the war. I learned yet another aspect of what was going on during the war.
57. The Gift of Dyslexia by Ronald Davis
This is a very interesting insider's view of what it is like inside the brain of a dyslexic, how they think in pictures instead of words and what that means for their view of letters on a page. I have almost no doubt that Basia is dyslexic, and this book gave me lots of moments of "oh, that's why she says/does that!" It also explains the strengths that 3-dimensional thinking has which will be great to remember as we try to figure out how to overcome some of the struggles.
