Christmas Break!

What Christmas break means at the Moore house:

1. I got to sleep in until almost 6am! I didn't get up any later than normal, but I got up when I wanted to get up and not when I was required to get up. Lovely!

2. I'm still in jammy pants, a t-shirt, a sweatshirt, and unmatching socks (the socks match each other, just nothing I am wearing) at 10:38am. If you come to my door, beware! I'm not sure when I will decide to actually get dressed.

3. I have the radio up extra loud and am working on cleaning the kitchen. And doing laundry. And dipping Martha Washingtons. I actually had the thought, "how nice and easy it is to be a stay-at-home mom!" I know, shoot me.

On this first day of break it just seems so much easier than being a stay-at-home mom PLUS homeschool teacher PLUS in-home childcare provider. It just doesn't pay quite as well or get the kiddos educated the way I want, though.

4. Brishen is in his jammies, playing with Legos, and listening to his ipod in its dock.

5. Basia is dressed. She's busy, busy, busy. I'm just not sure what she is doing. She comes in and grabs some duct tape and a big plastic bag and then leaves again. She has glued pictures onto homemade picture frames that she designed out of paper. She has made a couple Christmas cards. She takes breaks to ride her bike out front. She is 100 percent in her element. I just shudder to think of the mess that she is creating in various corners of the house.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
