A Million Little Things: Volume 2

..that I will miss about Las Cruces:

* all the people who are so excited to get a hug from my daughter on Sunday morning, and the Sunday morning hug I get from my mom and the punch or pinch I get from my dad.

* sitting with my brother, sister-in-law, and especially my nephew at worship. It's fun when Camden reaches over and pinches me during worship and when we ask him where his Uncle Jon is and he knows to look and point to that crazy man up front playing the guitar.

* my bell choir. Man, there could be no substitute for the casual, joking, fun group we have. We started playing as beginners a couple years ago, and it will be so sad to leave them behind.

* Caliches. El Paso does not have Caliches. How wrong is that??

* babysitters. I have so very many people who I can call when I need someone to watch my kids. Most of them are family, and there just is no better sitter than a grandmother or aunt or uncle. There are also so many friend who I know I could call on in a pinch who love my kids and are always there for us. I am moving away from them all. El Paso is full of strangers, and it takes me FOREVER to get to know people!

* my Sunday School kiddos. I will be glad to not have to plan class each week, but it will be sad to leave the kids. I have watched most of them grow up from toddlers to older elementary kids. We joke around a lot. They have such fun and quirky personalities. I'll run into them again when they are teens who are too cool acknowledge me!

* my backyard. I just love my yard. It is not immaculate or even the least bit neat, but it is big, has great trees, and is the perfect yard for my kids to enjoy their childhood. There is room for the playset, the trampoline, a basketball court, a place to hang laundry, plenty of room for digging holes, and grass to run through a sprinkler. It was the main reason I wanted to buy this house.

* dinner and movie nights with Saralyn. They are good for the soul.

* all the people at church who I watch for and who watch for me on a Sunday morning. True friends.

I always knew I could see of you each Sunday morning. I will miss the run and hug every Sunday morning. Even Brishen hugs me each Sunday morning. There is nothing better than playing Bell's with you. What a great few years.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
