I'm letting myself off the hook for the rest of this transition period. Here's how things will be changin' around here:
1. The bread will come from a store, not from my hands.
2. Supper will be most often made in the mornings in a crock pot or even come from a box.
3. There will be clutter, and not all (or even most) of it will be hidden when you come over.
4. The DVD player and the Wii will entertain my children more than usual.
5. All thoughts of making jam during this great strawberry season will wait until next year.
6. I will not feel obligated to finish a book or even start one, no matter when book club may be.
7. Those 10 pounds I want to loose will come with me to our new house because I will be packing up my scale and forgetting them for the time being.
8. Extra crafts and activities will come from the imaginations of the children and not from my planning and preparation, even when I am watching someone else's children.
9. Basia's educational disorders will not be solved by me in the next few months, and I will not feel guilty.
10. I may or may not take pictures. My blog may or may not get updated.
Here are things that are non-negotiable during this transition:
1. Exercise will be a regular occurrence, for my health AND sanity.
2. Basia will get lots of extra snuggles to help her get through this.
3. Each child will get a weekly mini-date with mom, so I have to stop what I am doing and focus on them for at least that long each week.
4. Every possible effort will be made not to take out all of my stress and fatigue on my husband, who has enough of his own.
5. I will enjoy every possible chance to hang out with family and friends, knowing that those moments are irreplaceable and make every other moment so much easier.
6. I will figure out how to sit down once in a while to breathe, watch something mindless on the TV, read a few pages of something, or even blog.

AMEN! I will be sending wishes for all those wonderful "off the hook" items. I will also try to keep your mind off all the unimportant things for the next few months.
Yikes! I just realized I've never been "on the hook" on any of those things. I am such a slacker!
Prayers for a peaceful transition in which the good things overpower the bad!
Remember who put you on that hook!
Here's the thing, though, Mom. I ENJOY doing those things when life is normal!
