You may think, being a pastor's family and all, that a post with that title would have a little something to do with church. Nope. I'm blogging, whether you care or not, about what I do on Sunday afternoons.
I like Sunday afternoons. It is the time when I get myself organized for the week ahead. My family doesn't always like how I involve them in my panic as I realize how messy the weekend has made the house (every. single.weekend.). I look around and feel a sudden need to get everything in its place so we can start the week off fresh. Lest you think that I enjoy that part of my Sunday afternoons, let me assure you it is another sort of organizing that I like.
Sunday afternoon is the time when I fill out my charts and lists.
1. This afternoon I am working on my menu and also my grocery list.
2. I am filling out some blank calendar pages so that Basia can have her own calendar to see exactly when she has school, Tae Kwon Do, and other fun stuff. Her first question of each day is, "Mom, do I have Tae Kwon Do today?" Call it wishful thinking, but I am hoping that this will help her figure it out on her own.
3. I will transfer Basia's weekly assignments from the 9-week subject planning grids, so that I can see exactly what we need to do each day for each subject in one place.
4. I will (yes, I'm learning) check over Brishen's week of school work ahead to see what I need to buy for science and type up for memory work.
A Sunday afternoon of planning and organizing helps me to have a fresh outlook on Monday morning.
