More Mummification

4. The strips of linen were dyed in leftover coffee (no, Basia doesn't drink it ALL).  It was actually pretty cool how they looked after being left in there for many hours as we went about our busy afternoon away from home.  The book recommended "at least" 20 minutes.  We left them in the coffee for 6 or 8 hours.

5.  The plaster mummy was released from the mold.  His face was not attached to his head.  His legs are not very much attached to anything.  In short, he is as crumbly as a real mummy from 3,000 or so years ago.  Talk about realistic.
