The Moores Get Cheesy--Take One

So, here's the plan:  Each month I am going to buy a new kind of cheese for us to try and rate.  I am hoping that we may expand our horizons and learn to like some interesting cheeses some day.  I am always curious about all those crazy cheeses that I pass on my way to the cheddar, mozzarella, and jack.  The cheese pictured above was our first try.  We each tasted it, made a comment (which I recorded in my handy-dandy notebook), and rated it on a scale of 1-10.  One of us fancies himself somewhat of a hoity-toity connoisseur.  The rest of us are your average joes--OK, maybe below-average joes.

The Cheese:  Cranberry Cinnamon Goat Cheese

Basia:  "Uh, this is NOT good."  Rated 1 out of 10

Brishen:  "It's different.  I'd rather have cheddar."  Rated 4 out of 10

Melani:  "It tastes like I licked a goat, with a hint of cinnamon."  Rated 2 out of 10

Jon:  "It had the pleasant pungency typical of a goat cheese.  The strong flavor is well off-set by the cinnamon.  I found the cranberry overpowered."   Rated 6 out of 10

How fun! I love all the comments. I hope you remember to NOT buy that cheese again. Mom

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
