Fundraising

Fundraising is a four-letter word, as far as I am concerned.  I am REALLY uncomfortable asking others for money.  I helped Morning Star raise a lot of money for different projects, but it was all done through the children in my Sunday School class.  I personally never had to ask.  There are really good causes, though, and really good reasons to raise money.

Right now, we are trying to find ways to make some extra money to help pay for the adoption of our next child.  We have signed with an agency and will be joining their very new program to adopt a child from the African country of Burundi.  We have seen many creative ways that adoptive parents raise money, but I'm just not quite crafty enough to make and sell anything.  We were wracking our brains, when Jon thought of something he could do.  Yes, he's the creative one.  He has been hard at work, writing a devotional booklet for this Christmas and New Year Season.  It's going to be classic Jon, and really great.  My next blog post will be his little blurb.

So please be patient with me as I do a bit of fundraising.  If you can and would like to donate something now and get a devotional booklet, that would be wonderful.  If you cannot or would prefer not to participate, I totally understand and hope you will still visit the blog since the fundraising posts will not take over, I promise!  Oh, and we'd love it if you have others who you think might want this booklet.  We are also happy to answer any questions you may have about adoption, Burundi, or our plans!
