Field Trips

Yesterday we had a field trip to Kids, Kows, and More, an agricultural learning event.
Of course, Basia had to wear her boots and hat.
It was a good event, but there was some shameless plugging of their products.  For example, we learned that kids MUST have 3 servings of dairy a day (4 for adults) to be healthy.  Tell that to the vegan friend who was also there.  They also told us how healthy and wonderful beef is for you.  Basia and I had to make a bathroom stop during that particular presentation.
It was great to see the babies.
Overall it was a nice event, and the kids did learn some things, as evidenced by their written reports turned in that afternoon.  There were segments on vegetable farming, pecan growing, dairy cows, beef cows, and cotton growing.  They gave the kids free milk.  They sold ice cream for 25 cents, so I got to go against my own rules about buying things at such events.
Here are pictures that were stuck on my phone from our last field trip to the War Eagles Museum.  Brishen meticulously searched for each plane listed in on the guide while Basia mostly ran around with her friends, occasionally asking if that was the type of plane that her grandpa flew.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
