Yes, I'm a junkie

I am sort of in love with Pinterest.  I admit it.  I love the ideas I find.  I love that it lets me organized the large variety of things that interest me.  I love to see what friends and family post to their boards.  I love to see what strangers post to their boards.

Here's the thing:  After a few weeks of pinning like crazy, I gave myself an ultimatum.  I was never allowed to visit Pinterest again unless I started actually DOING some of the projects I posted to my boards.  Pinning all sorts of recipes and ideas to boards is good, clean, fun, but it is truly a waste of time if you never take the ideas off your boards and create.

It was a scary ultimatum indeed.  I did not want to stop visiting the site!  As I said, I love me some Pinterest.  So, I created.  I'm taking it slow, but I've tried several recipes:   lemon fudge, chocolate covered pumpkin cups (like peanut butter cups but with pumpkin filling), jalapeno popper dip (um, oops, I just noticed that I haven't actually tried any of the healthy recipes I've pinned).  Then I got REAL crazy.  I got out my mom's old 1970's sewing machine and even plugged it in.  I made shopping bags out of old t-shirts.  Yes, I did.  It took me all of 10 minutes to take an idea on a Pinterest board and make it into something real and useful.  I'm so proud of myself.

Basia was inspired, too.  She broke out the needle and thread and used the leftover sleeves to make hats.  Without measuring anything.  Without considering head sizes or shapes.  She freestyled it.  We laugh and laugh...

But at least I'm still allowed to visit Pinterest.  Who knows what amazing thing I will try next?  If I can sew a simple straight line in a cotton shirt, the sky's the limit for sure!
