of what my 1-year-old finds fit to eat:
bananas
peaches
pears
applesauce (he doesn't know I lace his with Singulair each night)
pasta
little toddler puffs
Cheerio's (occasionally acceptable)
PB&J (occasionally acceptable)
infant oatmeal (don't you dare try to feed him rice cereal or, heaven forbid, adult oatmeal)
pizza
French fries
yogurt
saltines
bites of things off my plate
I can't blame his pickiness on what someone else did or did not feed him since I'm the one who introduced solids to him when the time came. I thought I was doing it just like I had done it with all the other kids, including one a few months before him and one a few weeks before that. I should be a pro at this, for heaven's sake.
When I started giving him table food, I did it just like I had done before, and I'm pretty good at getting little ones to love on some green beans, carrots, and peas because that's what I give them when they are hungry. This one was not interested in any of it touching his mouth.
He is the toughest child I ever did try to wean. When he is hungriest, he is also the pickiest and usually will whine and cry for literally hours until he gets a bottle, no matter what else I feed him or what distraction techniques I try. I have weaned several kids now, including one just a few months ago. It's not like I'm out of practice. Ahh! I am a very stubborn and strong mom, but I think I have met my match in the food department.
