NYC, Day 5

We got up early on our final morning in NYC.  This was our early morning view of Times Square from our breakfast lounge.  There are screens to watch everywhere, advertising all sorts of shows and movies and Broadway performances.

Why did we get up when it was our last chance to sleep in for the next 17 or so years?  We thought we would join the crowd for a taping of Good Morning America, since it was only a block or two from our hotel room.  This is a view of the set where we were.  We could see the teleprompter and the screen of what was being reported inside.  We got there right as the show started and were able to stand in the third row.  After 40 minutes of taping with no stars emerging, the people standing right in front of us had to leave to catch their plane,  That meant Brishen and I were in the second row, right behind some short people.  We have the show saved on our DVR, and you can see us both over and over again as they pan the crowd!

In the hat is DL Hughley, the comedian and actor.  He never even acknowledged the crowd was there at any point in the morning.

The GMA starts, minus Robin Roberts, emerging to briefly greet the crowd.  They shoot the inside portions of the show in the building right behind them.

They shot this in front of us.  They were talking about how our favorite fall treats are horrible for us.

This lady, I hear, is in How I Met Your Mother and Once Upon a Time.  I don't watch either of those, so I was a little clueless and can't even remember her name.  Jennifer?

Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulis joined the rest outside, so we got to see them all together!

She's beautiful, whoever she is...

Paparazzi!!!  Now you can see how good our spot was.  The paparazzi were right behind Brishen!

Our last stop in NYC before heading to the airport was lunch at Ellen's Starlight Diner on Broadway.  The wait staff sings Broadway songs to you the entire time!  It was the perfect ending to a trip we will never forget.  Now I think I should take each of my children to NYC when they turn 15!
