Southern New Mexico State Fair:
Basia won 2nd place with her "Lego Airshow."
The kids were so scared of all the animals last year. This year only the new kids were afraid. Progress!
Crafting:
We actually got quite a few crafts done in the month of October. I'm proud of us!
Pumpkin patch and corn maze:
Boo Breakfast:
Brishen went the tech route this year. The eyes on his t-shirt move in an eerie way, thanks to a phone app.
Grandmother hosted an awesome Boo Breakfast. We enjoyed every treat and the time together!
Carving Pumpkins:
Yes, she has watched Halloween Wars on the Food Network Channel.
I was surprised that none of the kids were completely grossed out by the pumpkin goo. It took Brishen 13 years before he was willing to touch it.
Basia's pumpkin had a face on each of its four sides!
Halloween:
Yes, I'm still a bit sad that my kids were licensed characters for the first time in Moore history, but I'll deal. Collectively we were quite the sight of super heros! Sir Smiles--Superman. Wee One--Hulk. Thing 2--Iron Man. Zade--Captain America. Miss Independent--Wonder Woman. Thing 1--Spiderman. Basia--Flash. Grandmother--Ninja Turtle (a rotation of turtles, actually.) Jon--well, I'm sorry to say that he was Nacho Libre. Watch the movie. Picture Jon getting very much into character. Scary stuff.
We loved having Grandmother hang with us at our church Trunk or Treat and then trick or treating around our (lousy) neighborhood. Next year we find a better neighborhood with more than 3 houses participating!
Fall Colors:
Can I count myself blessed that these are the colors of fall in my back yard? Even now that November is half over, we still have fruit to pick (pomegranates and figs) and roses to sniff.
Add in our trip to NYC, and you have one very busy month!
