A Warrior, That's Me

When I was in high school, I had a volleyball coach who spent a season having us listen to inspirational music after practice and before games while we visualized ourselves doing great things during the game.  It was very weird, but I thought of it today when I wished I had a soundtrack of the warrior, girl power, surviving all odds types of songs to play loudly to get myself pumped for my afternoon adventures.

Did you know I have adventures that are not related to chasing kids barefoot on gravel and seeing how many dirty diapers I can stuff into the pail before the pail gives up and pops open?  Well, I do.

I thought of carrying one of Brishen's strange medieval weapons along to a foster child's family visit.  That's the type of warrior I was going to be today.  I wanted to be pumped up and armed.  Yes, I did.

Instead, the visit was cancelled, returning me to my regularly scheduled programming and giving me another week before I need to worry about belting out the songs to that soundtrack.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
