Memorial Day

Well, maybe we had to grill using a little camping grill since that's the only size of propane tank we had.  Maybe we had to have veggie dogs (which the carnivorous foster kids are not particularly fond of) instead of veggie burgers (which they love), since I assumed we had hamburger buns when we did not.  Maybe the smores fixings will have to be saved for another day when we have more energy.  Maybe one little guy was the ultimate in fussy this afternoon.  Maybe I was still responsible for getting one little guy to his visit with his mom.  Maybe we had to get some school work done this morning.  Maybe we had to watch Frozen again since that's the only request by a huge percentage of our family population.  Maybe it wasn't an absolutely perfect, flawless day, but we had the best morning just enjoying our kids enjoying each other.  We had a great swim this afternoon in our newly cleaned pool.  We had grilled veggies, roasted corn, veggie dogs and veggie brats, popcicles to drip down chins, and brownies hot out of the oven.  We did our best to fully enjoy this day that is ours to enjoy because of those who have paid the sacrifice that this day honors.
