"Big, big, big, big, HUGE!"

If you are to give Edison a drink, he will certainly request that you give him "big, big, big, big, HUGE!" amount of said drink!  He is so over the tiny amounts typically given to 2-year-olds to prevent big, big, big, big, huge messes.

While I'm talking about Edison, let's talk about this new name of his.  We just started calling him, "Edison," this week after getting the news that the adoption is a definite "go."  It is so strange to call a child a new name after two full years of calling him another name that seems to fit him just right.  I knew we needed to get him used to his new name before it becomes official and others start using it.  I didn't want him to look at other people (I'm thinking church people, specifically) like they were nutso.  It is crazy how quickly he answered to "Edison."  He embraced the name from the instant we first used it.  I was talking to Jon about the name, and he--in a snotty pre-teen voice at the ripe old age of two--said, "What, Mom?"  That was his way of telling me that I was talking about him and not just some name.  There is no doubt in his mind that he is now Edison.  Now the rest of us just have to remember...especially when he is in trouble and that other name just rolls of the tongue from such frequent---"__________, stop trying to push him off the table!"--- use.
