Brishen made some dough tonight!
Let me give you a little back story.
Baby Roo.
This child's eating has been quite interesting. He refuses any sort of baby cereal. He has tolerated (as in let more than one bite cross his lips) baby food from a jar about five times since we started trying when he was 6 months old. Mashing fresh food by hand fared no better. He likes baby yogurt, on occasion but gets mad at the thought of me putting a spoon in his mouth.
He HATES bibs. HATES them. He rips them off immediately 90% of the time. His high chair makes him cry. He will tolerate it only for brief periods (very brief periods) when there is something interesting on it. He cries every time I put him in it, and this child is not a big crier.
In the last few weeks he has been doing better and better with eating big people food. He loves sauteed spinach (baby food bananas--NO!!, spinach--YES!!), steamed squash, bread of any sort, bananas (this one took about 49 times of refusing before he agreed to love them this week), pastas are related to bread so he's all in, rice cakes are food from the Gods, pinto beans and green beans and peas and corn and carrots and cereal of various types are all a yes nowadays. He still doesn't eat enough people food to cut down on his formula at all.
OK, back to the point of this post. It's usually best to strip Roo down before a meal and forget the bib. There is no use even attempting to feed him. He will only eat if he is the one doing the feeding. He is 9-months-old, insists on fully feeding himself, and won't wear a bib. Can you see where I am going with this? I don't, as a policy, bathe babies every night since my days as a new mom almost 16 years ago. Roo is challenging this belief. He gets insanely messy every single night. Insanely messy.
Tonight he ate a banana and part of a bean burrito. It was not a pretty sight.
1. I clean him 99.99% of the time so I volunteered Jon for tonight's task.
2. Brishen is $5 richer.
Those two facts are very much related.
