Thanks for the straws, Grandma!
I don't have photographic evidence, unfortunately, but our church had a Valentine's Dance on Friday night. I didn't want to go, but I knew that we should support the event. My cousin's husband died this week, and it seemed hard to go from death to dancing. We went, and I am so glad we did. Cassia is my girl who had to be held by her teacher during her preschool performance a couple months ago. She is shy and quiet and does not want an audience. She is a girly girl, though, and is often trying to get her brothers to dance in the house or back yard.
They had nursery provided for this dance, but the dance was marketed for all ages, so I gave the kids the option of going to nursery or dancing or a little of both. Soren was firmly in the nursery crew with zero desire to dance. Asa was forced into the nursery so that I could dance. The others started out at the dance with Zade and Edison moving to the nursery after a few songs.
Cassia and Tobias, however, left me stunned! They were the first and sometimes only ones on the dance floor for every single song. They danced and danced and danced and danced without a single thought of being shy. I have never, never seen this side of Cassia. She has a passion that I didn't know was there! Tobias was the perfect partner. He was willing to be led around (read spun, dipped, dragged, and pushed) all night long. I got a few horrible pictures on my phone and also a video. I will add them if I can manage the tech involved. I am still stunned at the two of them!
We spent Valentine's night at church since Jon was preaching our Saturday night service. I loved that we were all together! Jon and I will get our date night...someday!
