Dress-Up

We have a dress-up chest full of old Halloween costumes and other odds and ends that we pull out every few months. Basia was creative with her combinations, of course. Her main theme for the entire day, though, was definitely "pirate." She was a mean pirate, and I was instructed to be a nice pirate and the pirate king. She doesn't believe that pirates should steal treasure, but share treasure instead. Even the mean ones share instead of steal.

For a while, she and Brishen would take turns going into the living room and coming out with a new outfit or additional outfit item. Then they would laugh and laugh at the changes.

Brishen is happy to have some of Jon's old masks to wear.

That's awesome!
Basia and the pirate thing reminds me of the knight phase she went through, when I had to make up adventures for her to go on... with Brishen along, of course.
I drew monsters and bad knights on paper for them.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
