I am almost embarrass to post today. We had so much quality family time, you may think we're crazy! Brishen and I started the day by joining our church hiking group on a hike over Baylor Pass. It is a wonderful, challenging 6-mile hike over the Organ Mountains to Aguirre Springs on the other side. I have been wanting to do this hike for months, and I was so happy to finally do it.
While we were hiking, Basia and Jon were back at home packing a picnic and making cookies for all us weary hikers. Basia was sad to miss the hike, but was so excited to make cookies. She insisted on chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips. I really have no idea where she's had them before, but the were awesome! They met us at Aguirre Springs with the picnic lunch.
After the hike, there was time for some afternoon skateboarding and them games. Jon kept beating us at this one.
Here's the embarrassing part: after some games, we went hiking AGAIN! I felt like going somewhere, and Jon felt he missed out on the morning hike, so he looked in our guide book and found a place called Mesilla Valley Bosque. It was a nice 3 1/2 mile hike along the Rio Grande toward an area none of us knew existed. Basia had to stop often for some water from the CamelBak. Is it really that fun to suck water out of a long hose?
Toward the turn-around point of our second hike, we were surprised to find tons of little seashells near this tributary to the Rio Grande. Brishen only wanted the big ones, but Basia wanted them all.

Basia has gotten so much taller since the last time we have seen her! She looks so much older!
