I'm THAT Kind of Mom

Basia has always been a bit of a chef-in-training. She watches some Food Network shows with us and always wants to help us in the kitchen. Tonight she BEGGED to make up her own recipe. I finally let her. It was. . . interesting.

Here's her ingredient list, in case you want to whip up a batch of your own: 1 egg, milk, lime juice, nutmeg, cinnamon/sugar, mustard seed, parsley, and basil. Brishen offered to try it right away, and Jon got guilted into trying it. Even the dog was less than interested. Unfortunately, she now wants to be called, "Egg Girl" and make us all eggs in the morning.
Brishen was not about to let his sister have all the fun. He also started with an egg and added the following: chili powder, basil leaves, Old Bay (right there, I'm out!), pumpkin pie spice, ground mustard, ground nutmeg, cream of tartar, red pepper, cinnamon/sugar, Caribbean jerk, garlic powder, and lime juice. His actually did not taste THAT bad in very small doses. I think he used so many seasonings in such tiny amounts that it was just a muddled mess of something. The dogs truly enjoyed his egg.

I'll be having cereal in the morning, by the way. I'm the kind of mom who lets her kids experiment and creat weird (disgusting) things, but not the kind who will eat what they have created.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
