She's a swimmer!

I left the camera in the van, so there are no pictures of the event, but BASIA CAN SWIM!! Mind you, she won't be jumping in the deep end without her arm floats for a while (I don't think), but she is getting closer. She was playing with a pink ring in the shallow end of the pool. She would throw it and then go under water to get it. Then she started throwing it a few feet out and swimming under water to get it. She did it a couple times without realizing that she was actually swimming. I quietly watched. She came up once and told me that she was staying under water a long time. I told her that I saw and was impressed. Then she did it again and realized that she was swimming under water. That was all it took. She did it over and over and eventually did it without going for the ring, just trying to see how far she could swim. It is so much fun to watch those big moments in the lives of your kids! The best part is that we have several weeks of summer left for her to practice before the pools close.
