Sleepover and Race #1

I have lots of pictures from our trip, so I will blog a few at a time when I get a chance over the next few days. The kids and I came home a little early to be nearer my mom while she is in the hospital. These first pictures are from the beginning of our trip.

Basia got to have her first ever sleepover at a friend's house. Karl and Jen were nice enough to let Brishen and Basia stay at their house the night before the Albuquerque race so we didn't have to wake them up at 4-something the next morning. Basia claims the pie and getting to play with Lilia right when she woke up were her favorite parts of the sleepover.

Here we all are, waiting for the race to begin above and after we all completed the 13.1 miles below. Notice the sun did eventually rise.

Our first race together.

We place the arrow sticker above Jon's number to highlight the "girly" placement of his number. He just followed what we all did, realizing later that most manly men place their numbers higher on their chests.

This was an actual view at one point along our race. Real, live camels in someone's backyard in New Mexico.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
