Fishing at Sacramento

We took the extended family to Sacramento Methodist Assembly on Monday for some recreation, to remember the olden days when camp was such a part of all our lives, and to share that special place with our kids. They welcomed us with a sign when we got there.
They now stock the pond with fish for "catch and release" fishing. That is the very first thing my kids wanted to do.

It took a while and some bait switching, but once we got the right bait, each kid caught a fish in no time. Basia wanted to take her fish home to give to Aunt Saralyn for her small fish tank.

That's Gretchen's fish above and Graeme's fish below. Graeme didn't want to be too close to his fish for too long, but he was willing to point it out for us.

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
