The Moore Four history, that is. Here is the list of what Brishen has been each Halloween since birth:
5 weeks old--clown
age 1--spider
2--raccoon
3--Lego
4--koala
5--ghost
6--alien
7--wizard
8--dragon
9--bag of "Gross-eeries"
And Basia:
7 weeks old--lion
age 1--skunk
2--monkey
3--doctor
4--koala
I have a couple favorite Halloween memories from my childhood. First of all, I remember that we would often tell my mom that we didn't want to dress up and then change our minds the night before Halloween. Sorry, Mom! My favorite costume by far was my Statue of Liberty costume in upper elementary. Everyone was so impressed. Then there was the year in high school when I dressed as a Hershey's Kiss for a dance. The costume was great--it used lots of tin foil. The problem was that there was no way to sit down while wearing it. I wasn't actually asked to dance every single dance, so there were times when I needed to sit down.
My memories of the Halloweens of my kids are mostly fond. I remember trick-or-treating the Halloween before we left Maryland. It was so nice to go door to door and know almost everyone in the small town. It really was the best trick-or-treating experience and one I wish we still had.
I remember Basia in her skunk costume as the cutest child ever. She was so tiny and so good at running. I still have that vision of her scurrying along, trying to keep up with the bigger kids. Brishen's Lego costume was great, except it needed to be taped over and over through the night. His Gross-eeries costume was also great but impossible to take more than itty bitty steps in. Homemade costumes are the best, but we haven't had the best luck with them. I guess Brishen's dragon costume was the homemade costume that didn't cause problems while trick-or-treating.
I may share some pictures later.
