Decorating

We just had to have hot chocolate while we decorated for Christmas!

We also had to have some Christmas music. Brishen even ventured out into the cold morning air to get the CDs out of the van. He was serious about setting the mood!

Brishen thought he'd try out the tree topper on his own top.

Brishen has been decorating the tree since he was four years old and insisted on doing it himself. Now he has some help, and they are actually learning to space out the ornaments. It also helps that Brishen can now reach most parts of the tree.

Our house is looking more festive than it was when we woke up. I was pretty nostalgic while decorating this year. I'm thinking that I may take some pictures of individual decorations and tell their stories on the blog over the next couple weeks. It's amazing to me how these same decorations could sit on a table for a garage sale and look like junk to everyone else, but there are so many memories attached to them, so they are precious to us.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
