Basia's Business Plan

Basia has an important goal in life, and she is VERY serious about making it happen. She wants to run a hospital. She has been planning it for months and would love to start working on it today. She accepts that she may have to wait until she is six. Here are the plans she has made:
location: the brand new city hall building by the library. She even called City Hall (I made Jon take the call and use a voice) to ask to borrow it. It will be called "City Hall Hospital."
ambulance: she goes back and forth between planning to buy a used ambulance and building an ambulance a la Junkyard Wars out of our old blue car.
supplies: bandaids, bandages, 4 needles, hospital beds, blankies, pillows, oxygen, gowns, nurses' stuff, doctor stuff, stethoscope, vitamins, medicine, blood pressure cuff, food, fire extinguisher, ambulance
staffing: Dad- mop floors, help Granddad make food; Basia-drive ambulance; Granddad-make food; Aunt Saralyn-drive helicopter; Mom-push wheelchairs; Brishen-doctor; Grandmother-nurse; Aunt Diana-sit in the passenger seat of the ambulance; Uncle Kenn-gives people oxygen in back of ambulance
to do list: paint, clean (Dad's job), make name badges--she already did this one
Basia is so very serious about getting started that I finally had to explain to her that she will not be able to drive until she is at least 15, and so she will have to wait a while. I told her that she can start a notebook with all her plans, that she can cut out pictures of things she wants for her hospital, that we can read all about hospitals and ambulances in the mean time. When she starts talking about her plans, she enters a whole other world. She gets very serious (and bossy) and is all business. I couldn't believe when she actually wanted to call city hall and was brave enough to speak up and make her request to who she thought was a stranger.
