Today was by far the best day since my surgery. I led an almost normal life and never was hit with that overwhelming tiredness. I helped make (green) pancakes this morning, dropped Jon off at church, ran to the library and then stopped by the grocery store really quickly, all before leading bilingual storytime at church. After that we came home and did school. I made a green colored lunch for the kids, had them rest a little while, and then we were off to PE. After PE we picked up Jon and came home. We later went out to eat (my first time post surgery), and the kids and I later went for a three-mile walk.
Wow! What a mundane, normal sort of day, exactly the kind of day I have not yet been able to handle. I just couldn't believe that the tiredness never hit me. I suppose I may pay for it all tomorrow, but at least for today I felt halfway normal.
Now if only I didn't have to look longingly at my laundry that is piling up and wonder how I can manage to do it without lifting anything.
