Groundbreaking

We did it. We officially broke ground for our church expansion yesterday.
The turnout was twice what was expected--around 150 people. It is hard to explain how it felt to have so many of our church family gathered at one time for the event. It was just so very nice.

After the chairs of various committees (and Jon) got to ceremonially break ground with their golden shovels, they passed out golden spoons to children and others so they could get in on the action. Basia dug in the area that will be the nursery, and Brishen and some of the older boys went straight to the "crib room." Brishen later went from room to room and dug in every single one.

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
