Gettysburg

Thanks to a tip from a fellow homeschool mom, we decided to skip the museum at Gettysburg and take the audio driving tour. It was a great way to see Gettysburg and to really learn all about the battles that were fought there. It's hard to believe that so many lives were lost in those fields below Basia. Basia is holding her own U.S. Grant doll. She really wanted a Lincoln doll of some sort, but she settled for Grant.

Betty's grandfather fought in Gettysburg. There is now a monument to all those from Pennsylvania who fought in the battle. Every single soldier from Pennsylvania is listed, so we all searched and searched for Grandfather England's name.

We knew Jon was getting old, but we didn't realize he was Civil War old.

Wow! They even left the "H" out of Jon's name! You know I'll never forgive myself for that, right. :)

You know you are busy and stressed when you are an excellent speller and a perfectionist and you still spell your bro-in-law's name wrong!
