A Million Dots

That's the name of a book by Andrew Clements that Brishen has checked out from the library on multiple occasions. He has it again. And he's reading it over and over. And he's quoting facts from it (over and over again).

The book actually has a million dots in it. It also has pages of number facts. Brishen's goal is to memorize all the facts (so he can quote them to you all when you least expect it, I'm guessing). Here's his favorite fact:

"902,400 apples would completely cover a basketball court three feet deep--and if the old saying is true, that many apples would keep the doctor away for more than 2,470 years!"

This is a perfect example of how my son's brain works and what excites him in life.

It makes my brain hurt! I wish I had half the brain Brishen has. I think I have only half a brain anyway and need someone elses half a brain. Ask him if they do brain transplants.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
