We were lucky enough to get to join Jon on his latest trip. He was needed at Sacramento Methodist Assembly to lead the music for the mid-high camp. There was a lot of rain while we were there, but the sun shone enough for us to take some fun hikes. I also thoroughly enjoyed having someone else cook for me AND do all the dishes!
I like this picture because you can see the chapel where Jon and I were married peeking through the trees.
The kids and I hiked the Emmaus Trail on Thursday morning. I don't think I ever hiked the entire trail before. I always thought it was so very, very long when I was growing up there. I realized that it is only about 3.5 miles, and we hike farther than that all the time. The picture above is a view of the camp that I had never before seen. The pond and the field are so pretty from way above!
These are just some other views from our hike. It is amazing to realize that most of those tree stumps were actual trees when I used to live there. Jon and I took the kids on a hike from behind the Lodge (now called Aspen Lodge) all the way around to Laity. We never realized that you can easily make it to Rustic Camp from behind the Lodge and can see the Lodge just below when you are at Rustic. There were a lot more living trees in the way before the fire!
