I just like to share Basia's comments so I have something to look back on when she is a teenager and not quite so cute. Here are two recent ones:
This morning she went with me on my walk. It rained a lot last night. She said that it smelled good outside, "almost like dead animals." OK, I'm guessing her vegetarian days are numbered.
Did you see the picture of Basia with that tiny puppy below? At the campout? At one point during the weekend, I asked her to please give the owner back her puppy so that she could enjoy it, too. Basia cried. She asked if she could please tell me something. I walked with her to a more private area. She sniffled and wept and informed me that, "my dreams never come true." When you are imagining her saying those words, please know that you cannot possibly overdo the melodramatic nature of it. Yes, I am a killer of her dreams.
